we live in a 120 year old Victorian house
that everyone in town calls
that everyone in town calls
the Duff House
that's because
from about 1930 to 1980
the family that lived here was called
Duff
from about 1930 to 1980
the family that lived here was called
Duff
it is a work in progress
so bear that in mind as you take a peek
so bear that in mind as you take a peek
kitchen
don't you love the plastic on the window?
just one of the joys of living in a drafty old home
just one of the joys of living in a drafty old home
dining room
Noah's room
Fiona's Room
upstairs bath

schoolroom

reportedly
this space was originally the office
of the doctor who first resided in the duff house
you can see it has it's own exterior door

upstairs hall
staircase
some exteriors i shot at christmas time
this is the original front of the house
sometime before 1930 the address was changed
the entrance reoriented to the side off the kitchen and driveway
the style is called folk victorian
this is the front now
we need to do some porch repairs and have it painted
which will hopefully happen soon
when we bought the house
the previous owner had wanted privacy
so he planted numerous trees and shrubs that almost totally obscured
the house from the street
when we started cutting everything down
we discovered the lamppost hidden inside an overgrown shrub
and the lightbulb still worked
next on the list?
some more new windows
work on the front porch
painting
painting
painting
