lately
i have been thinking about
how quickly time passes
sometimes
i gaze at my children
wondering how it can be
that just yesterday
i was rocking them to sleep
changing diapers
breathing in
their clean sweet baby scents
and now
those same kids
are becoming tall gangly things
all arms and legs
trailing ear buds
rather than blankies
thinking themselves
too cool for words
so i am choosing
to slow down
to see and savor
these precious moments
whilst i still have them
which brings me to
another week of savoring the good stuff on
last week
so many of you
linked up wonderful eye candy
for us all
like this gorgeous art desk from Sophia's
and this wainscoting that Forever Decorating! added to her stairwell
i adore this awesomely cool

ReplyDeleteTime does go by far too fast...my littlest started kindergarten this year and it broke my heart! We have to savor every precious moment we have with them ♥

Agreed, time goes by way too fast! I wish we could pause it for a bit to slow down and enjoy. Are those no-bake cookies your son is scooping out of the pot? I LOOOVE those!
ReplyDeleteyou bet they are
Deleteno-bakes are a staple

ReplyDeleteChildren do grow up too fast! I had the horrible realization last year that when my oldest graduated HS and my littlest graduated kindergarten that the oldest child's childhood was over and the youngest child's babyhood was over!
I have been so sad about this for a year! Thanks for hosting!
Sherry
We can never get that time back, so my advice to all new parents is to savor it to the hilt. And use a video camera! LOL Thanks for hosting, Alison.

So true, savor every moment 'cause they grow up much too fast... seems like yesterday I took my daughter to kindergarten... time went by so fast and she'll be off to college by next year... that makes me sad! Thanks for hosting!~Poppy

ReplyDeleteHello Alison, This is so true, I was thinking about the very same thing today. I looked over at the pictures of my children - remembering their little sweet arms and smiles - now their all grown and gone - one part-time - we see her on weekends. Time flies by way, way too fast. Cherish these fleeting days! Thanks for hosting

Thank you for hosting the party. I'm right there with you about how time flies by, it kind of hits you between the eyes when you look and see they're all growing up! It's very bittersweet, because it's so exciting to see the people they're becoming, yet you long to hold onto them just a bit longer as tiny babies :)

Good morning, Alison.
ReplyDeleteIt's wonderful to "meet" you. I feel so lucky (and a bit emotional) w/ this post. I have 3 kids and I feel the same way, they're growing up so fast and I'm trying to enjoy every new adventures life bring to us. Making memories.. life should be all about that.
I hope we can keep in touch.
