A Bedroom For Little Miss

i have been promising you photos
of my daughter's redone room
for, like

evah

and i'm so sorry
it has taken months to post these

i must confess
that we actually finished
Little Miss's room
during the Christmas break

however

when i tried to take photos
with my little point and shoot camera
nothing turned out

so i had to wait until
my new camera arrived in the mail

which it did this week

and then my pal April
from Holistic Homemaking
came over for ice cream
and a little dslr tutoring for moi

are you prepared
for some icky before photos?

i'm pretty sure
Little Miss herself
actually snapped these pics

but unfortunately
they do tell the tale
of a room badly in need of TLC

now
let's all cheer up a bit
whilst we look at the afters
shall we?

pink was the requested hue
for the walls
and i went for the palest shade
i could fine
so as to avoid that 'pepto' feel

these books and bobs
are lined up on the old mantel

here's a vintage typewriter
that Miss bought at a yard sale
with her own money
and uses to type up stories
and newspaper articles for her self-published paper
though lately
she's done less clackety-clack typing on this
and moved over to her very own blog
even
 the dollhouse family room
got a little rearranging
though i would like
to paint her furniture white

it was handed down
from hubs' grandmother
and i don't think i'm allowed to (yet)
so there you have it

an ugly duckling room
transformed
into something very sweet
for my Little Miss

  1. Can you share little miss' blogs address even via email if that is better so we can check it out. Is the holistic homemaker the former view from 5'5"? Man, stay away for a few days and look what happens. LOVE that sweet room, Alison!

    1. i used to hate pink
      in my younger days
      but now
      it has grown on me

that bedding is almost as old
      as my daughter

      it's from Ikea
when they had the Rosali line
      of linens.

      thanks for the sweet comments!

  9. Greetings,

You did a wonderful job on your daughter's bedroom. So beautiful! I love the pastel pink walls, floral comforter and vintage furniture from her grandmother. My daughter's bedroom was pastel pink until she moved downstairs and I painted it a different color for my son. It seems to be a favorite color for young girls. I am still working on my daughter's room...it's a work in progress. Your daughter looks very happy and content in her new room. Thanks for sharing!
