a couple of weeks ago
i showed you some inspiration
for creating a gallery wall
on my staircase
and since then
many of you have asked
if i'm ever going to show you
my finished wall
i'm happy to report
that today is that day
after i finished hanging everything
just where i wanted
i pulled out a small level
and bunches of

which i stuck on the backs of the pictures
to hopefully keep them from tilting
even when 6 pairs of pounding feet
thunder up and down the stairs 947 times a day
after finishing
i decided that my wall
needed one more thing
so i dashed out to the Dollar Tree
to pick up 4 cheap black frames
for these homemade silhouettes of my kids
that were inspired by this post by My Twin-rific Life
and only a few

many of you have asked
if i'm ever going to show you
my finished wall
i'm happy to report
that today is that day
actually
i finished it last week
but had to wait
for a moderately sunny day
in order to get enough light inside
for proper photo taking
and yes
i know
i need a better camera
(blogging 101, right?)
someday
as you can see
i didn't want all the photos perfectly spaced
because doing that
would have made my head numb
after i finished hanging everything

and it finally looked complete
the whole gallery wall project
took an afternoon to complete

It looks fabulous. I love everything about it. All of the varying frames and sizes are just wonderful and your composition is perfect. Wow, big job, but so well done. Hugs, Marty
ReplyDeleteYour wall looks amazing! Love the eclectic mix of sizes and finishes of your frames. It all came together so well. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteI love your wall. I was watching the Nate Berkus show yesterday and they had a discussion about staircase decorating and you are right on target! This is exactly what he said to do!!
ReplyDeleteoh goody
ReplyDeletei do love it when my decorating ideas
are validated by people who are experts
in the field!
Gorgeous! :)
ReplyDeleteYour gallery wall is terrific. I like the mix of frames and sizes and that it is dedicated to your family.
ReplyDeleteThis looks GREAT! Love the collection of assorted frames! :-)
ReplyDeleteWow! You did it! I like how it gives a traditional look and at the same time very sentimental with all those family pictures. Now taking the stairs will not be boring anymore.

I LOVE it Alison!! It looks so beautiful and the woodwork on your staircase is incredible. :-) Super smart to add the sticky tack too!

So, so great, Alison!
ReplyDeleteAnd I think you are on
the right track not making
the spacing perfect, as it
is much more conducive
to adding more. I've been
wanting to make my own
silhouettes for a while;
even have the book. HAVE
to get it done!
Happy November,
xx Suzanne
Looks awesome! You did a great job!!
ReplyDeleteIt is wonderful! I have told some of my friends my next house will have a wall for this purpose!
ReplyDeleteLooks great! I need to get to work on my staircase wall. Hope you have a grand day! Toodles, Kathryn from TheDedicatedHouse

ReplyDeletealison, thank you for helping those of us who are type a's to see the beauty in uneven spacing. it looks great!
ReplyDeleteAlison, it turned out fabulous! I love it. I just finished one in my dining room makeover and they are stressful aren't they? Trying to get the placement right, hung at right height. I have a brand new appreciation of them. I ADORE the silhouettes. That was a great addition. I would like to do that sometime of my kiddos before they get any older. Well, it all looks beautiful! Thank you for sharing it with us at Inspiration Friday.

Great job! I've been wanting to do a gallery wall on my staircase, but I haven't gotten around to it yet. I'm a new follower! I hope you'll follow me back, but no pressure!

Your staircase gallery looks fantastic. I love the variety of frames you used. I have to use that sticky tack too, because the giant teenage feet in our house make everything askew.
ReplyDeleteI love how this turned out! I'm going to send your post to my daughter, who is looking for inspiration for her own staircase gallery wall. She will love this!!
ReplyDeleteIt turned out beautiful. What a wonderful idea.
ReplyDeletewhat a beautiful gallery wall! i'm a total sucker for them. found you via more the merrier monday.
ReplyDeletethanks so much ashlee!
ReplyDeleteI so need to do this. What a great display and showing how you did it! No more knocking off pictures as you walk up the stairs, (which is exactly what my kids did constantly and I took them all down!). Sharing at my weekend party later today. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteLove all the pictures...you just can't have too many pictures!
