kitchen inspiration

i'm at it again

i've got my beady little eye
on a certain space in my house
that needs a little

when we bought the duff house
the state of the kitchen was this


and


dark
dated

abyssmal

over the course of a few years
we updated the space
by stripping wallpaper
painting walls and cabinets
and adding new (craigslist) laminate countertops
lighting
window treatments




much improved
but never totally finished

and right now
in desperate need of a new sink

and if you buy a new sink for your kitchen
(or give a pig a pancake)

then you'll want to replace the countertop as well

and if you replace the countertop
then you'll have to paint the cabinets

and so on

hence
i've been thinking about what i want to change
and have been trawling the waters of inspiration
on pinterest

i've decided to rip out this cabinetry


and find a big china cabinet like this one
from craigslist


that would be painted out white

and primped a little

with that additional storage
i would be able to remove the set of upper cabinets
on this side of the room

and trim out the cabinet above the range hood
to look more custom


paint the remaining lower cabinetry
white

add butcher block countertop from ikea
and a new sink

maybe like this one


or


remove the old tile backsplash and paint out the wall
and change out some hardware
