Swimsuit season draweth nigh...

yup

despite the cruddy weather outside my window

very soon the sun will be shining 

the pool will be open

are you ready?

this little girl has been workin hard

the above is not a self portrait

just in case you were wondering

i don't look nearly that cheerful when i'm exercising

nope

i look more like this

i'm a grumpy exerciser

and often

more than a little hungry

whoever said

was crazy

or just weird

because honestly

exercise is just a means to an end

losing weight

getting healthier

not frightening the dogs on the street

for the past 2 months i've been keeping a food diary

and trying to get out and walk as often as possible

as of today

i'm down 27lbs.

feeling much better

and while i may not look this cute while working out

at least i've ditched the leg warmers

Co-op Science and Geography Fair

Last Friday evening our homeschool co-op hosted our Science and Geography Fair. Each child chose to do either a science project or geography project based on a topic they learned about during the year. Mr. Big did The Solar System; Little Miss chose China; Si and Toots did their project together on Volcanoes.

It worked in trials, but he didn't use the right measurements

that night and he only got a small fizzle.

Here's Little Miss with her grandma Tweed.

After the projects were viewed we did the Geography part of the fair.

The kids did a question/answer forum for the audience and then a group did

a short skit on world religions in  which Big and Little Miss had parts.

At the end of the evening the kids received awards from the moms who

had taught Science and Geo. all year.

What a fun way to cap off a fun year.

15 Years

15 years ago

on a friday

i married my sweetheart

some of the details have faded with time

but moments remain

i can recall with vivid clarity

the sensation of woozy joy

walking down that very long aisle

clutching the arm of my dad

grinning

we didn't know then

but it really began 19 years ago

when we met in college

ready to go way back?

and i mean Way Back

i remember

so much time spent watching him play baseball

a...lot

i remember a few formals

dressed to the nines

i remember homecoming

senior year

 the big hair

mine

 not his

i remember a few tears

here and there

all of it

leading up to The Big Day

wow

were we young

and just a little naive

  

but God is faithful

without His love and help

showing us how to love

how to sacrifice for each other

(though we still get it wrong sometimes)

teaching us patience

well

mostly teaching me patience 

blessing us

we would not be where we are today

thankful

faithful

blessed

ever more in love

happiest of anniversaries hon
