i am so thankful
to live in a part of the country where
we get to enjoy four seasons
granted
that fourth season
gets a little long
cold
hard on the heating bill
but now that
summer is dwindling
fading into fall
(and though i think
every season is my favorite
until the next one comes along)
autumn is on the horizon
soon
leaves will fall
hazy afternoons
will turn into
crisp twilights
we'll haul out
those extra layers
of cozy clothing
sweaters
jackets
i just wanted to share
a little bit of autumn with you

ReplyDeleteLast night a cool front blew through here and gave a breath of relief from a couple of weeks of cruel summer heat. Autumn is on its way, the breeze seems to whisper. I am very ready for fall jackets, sweaters, scarves... I think my favorite is the in-between, the hint of change from one season to the next.

ReplyDeletei love the fall. winter is close behind. summer next, and then spring. spring would be 3rd but my allergies are horrendous in the spring. i am not a fan of heat and humidity (we moved up from SC to get AWAY from it.) ha ha.

Ohhhhhh - I am SOOOO right there with you. Autumn is my FAVORITE season and what GREAT photos! As I just wrote at SandwichINK, I have already started to think about fun fall activities for our grand kids, such as making scarecrows, and thinking of ways The Sunflower House could "join" in the fun! HOORAY! And thank you for such a delightful "autumn" visit. :)
